Education

Is the most powerful tool available to break the cycle of global poverty. RLM through its program of “RISEN Together” has identified opportunities to establish primary and secondary learning centers in refugee camps and areas of extreme poverty.

Vocational Training

Revealing Light Ministries believes in the old adage that if you "Teach a man to fish, he will eat for a life time". In most third world nations, there is limited opportunity for gainful employment.

With little opportunity for advanced education, millions of people go about their lives, just existing. Given the ability to achieve something better, we believe people will strive to "rise up" out of their adversity. RISEN Together is assisting in forming community based cooperatives in different sectors of the work force. Providing vocational training and education in areas such as arts and crafts, making of clothes, animal husbandry and agriculture, so that impoverished people will be able to sustain themselves and their community.

Arts and Crafts. Learning to make items that can be sold in the general market place. Items such as baskets, jewelry, furniture, home accessories, weaving, pottery, sculpture and paintings. (See World Café & Gallery).

Clothing. Tailoring and making of clothes for personal use and resale.

Animal Husbandry. Raising and breeding of livestock. Pigs, goats, chickens, cattle and fish. Sales of breeding stock. Production of meat, eggs and milk for resale and community use.

Agriculture. Growing and harvesting of crops for human/animal consumption. For resale and community use.

Micro Finance. "RISEN Together" is developing a micro loan program for cooperative members. Small loans that will enable members to establish and grow small business enterprises that will allow them to rise above their poverty. Benefiting them and their community.
