Trauma – Cambridge Dictionary:   

Severe emotional shock and pain caused by an extremely upsetting experience.

Civil war, extreme poverty, political unrest, disease, famine, drought, domestic violence, rape, drug violence, sex trafficking women/children, religious intolerance/persecution and catastrophic natural disasters. These are just a few of the events that cause trauma. These tragedies have left hundreds of millions of people physically devastated and suffering from extreme emotional trauma. When you add to those numbers the more than 70 million men, women and children classified as refugees, who have been driven from their homelands, then this issue of emotional trauma certainly becomes the greatest human crisis our world has ever known.

For many people, this state of “trauma” remains with them indefinitely and often becomes part of who they are as they continually suffer the negative impacts of their “condition”. The effects of trauma can devastate a nation’s populace and hold a nation back. Science calls this type of trauma ‘PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder’ and the accepted form of treatment is counseling by a trained medical professional and use of psychotropic drugs. I submit to you that the trauma discussed here comes in the form of a Spirit and counseling will never deliver a person from its effects. Only through prayer and the healing power of Gods Spirit can this tormenting Spirit be eliminated. The Spirit that causes emotional trauma is as old as people have walked the earth. The original sin of pride occurred in the Garden of Eden and was followed by the expulsion of Adam and Eve. Imagine the deep emotional trauma Adam and Eve experienced when they lost such an intimate relationship with their Creator. I believe there is a thread that runs through humanity from the original trauma with Adam and Eve up until this very day.Just as humanity has a bent toward sin, we have a proclivity toward experiencing trauma.

This Spirit is a master at hiding itself deep in the soul of its victim. In the dark places, where truth is absent, this Spirit thrives. It takes the revealing (revelation) light of the Holy Spirit to expose this Spirit and drive it from its hiding place. It takes the Holy Spirit through specific (focused), fervent and unified prayer to sever the root causes of a person’s/nations trauma and drive it out. Only by using specific (focused) prayer can our prayers be effective. General (healing) prayer is ineffective against the staying power of this Spirit. God has planted a gift in every person, given us a destiny and promises us a good plan. The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy. He seeks to kill our gifts, steal our destiny and destroy God’s plan for us. Satan uses the “Spirit of Trauma” to hold a person/nation back, preventing that person/nation from entering into the destiny that God has promised. Gods heart is that all of His creation and especially His children live their lives in the fullness of everything He created them to be. He desires to see the “Healing of the Nations”.
