Model Prayer
Jesus gives us a model in scripture on how to pray against the “Spirit of Trauma”
Mark 11 13:14, 20:23:
“Seeing in the distance a fig tree covered with leaves, He went to see if He could find any fruit on it. He found nothing but leaves, so He rebuked the tree and said to it, no one will ever again eat fruit from you. In the morning they passed by the fig tree and noticed it was dead, completely withered away down to its roots. Peter said to Him, ‘Master, the tree you cursed has withered away’. Jesus replied, Have faith in God. Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the sea and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.”
Jesus words demonstrate a powerful method of prayer that we can use. This spirit stands as a mighty mountain, preventing millions from receiving healing and deliverance. However, we must follow the pattern of Jesus’ words to the fig tree and (in prayer) curse this spirit (pronouncing judgement); sever its’ roots (emotional symptoms) using healing scripture from the Word of God and rebuke the physical symptoms by declaring and decreeing, in Jesus’ name, that no one will ever eat its fruit again.
- Humbly repent and ask God to forgive our sin and the sins of the nation.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to bring light (illuminate) and reveal the presence of trauma.
- Break all agreements, alignments and ties, with this Spirit, that were made intentionally or unintentionally. Verbalize this out loud.
- Using the Word of God, sever the roots of the Spirit. Verbalize each of the root symptoms and then read healing scripture from God’s word. This is extremely important as it is only God’s word that makes our prayer effective. Sample scripture provided.
- Using the word of God, Rebuke the physical symptoms of the Spirit. Verbalize each one and then read healing scripture from God’s word. Sample scripture provided.
- Declare and decree that no person or nation will ever eat the fruit of the “Spirit of Trauma” again.
Healing Scripture for Model Prayer #1
- Jeremiah 33:6 - 6 “Behold, I will bring it to health and healing, and I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of prosperity and security.”
- Psalm 103:3 - 3 “Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases.
- Jeremiah 17:14 - 14 “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.”
- Isaiah 43:2 - 2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you will not be burned, and the flames shall not consume you.”
- Deuteronomy 7:15 - 15 “And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which you knew, will He inflict on you, but He will lay them on all who hate you.”
- Acts 5:16 - 16 “The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.”
- Psalm 34:19 - 19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
- Psalm 103:3 - 3 “Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases.”
- Isaiah 53:4-5 - 4 “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His stripes we are healed.”
These are only suggested scripture verses you can use. There are dozens of others addressing healing and deliverance that are appropriate. It is most important that you include God’s word in your prayer. It is the only source of power that will activate your petitions to God.
Model Prayer #2
This Prayer deals with the issues of destructive cellular memory. It can be prayed for yourself, for another person or adapt it to pray for a people group or nation.
I Pray that...
“All known and unknown negative images, unhealthy beliefs, destructive cellular memories, and all physical, emotional or spiritual issues related to (Trauma or another issue) would be found, opened and healed by filling (name/nation) with the light, life and love of God in Christ Jesus. I also pray the effectiveness of this healing be magnified by 100 times or more.” in Jesus name, Amen.
As with Model prayer #1, the intent of both prayers is that we are praying light (God’s light) into the darkness of the issues. Prayers need to be specific (focused/magnified) to be effective. As sunlight passing through a magnifying glass will burn away what it touches, our prayers need to be (focused/magnified) in the same manner so that our prayers will effectively burn away the subject of our intercession. Pray this prayer as often as needed until you see a change in the subject of your prayer.
